The Certificate Maintenance Password is required to manage your Digital Certificate with thawte through the Gossimer Control Panel.
Changing your Certificate Maintenance Password
IMPORTANT
It is recommended that the Certificate Maintenance Password is modified only in case the password has been compromised.
For modifying the Certificate Maintenance Password, you are requested to get in touch with our Support Team at support@gossimer.com. Gossimer will have the password modified by contacting thawte.
Certificate Maintenance Password modified by you directly through thawte
Ideally you should not have your Certificate Maintenance Password modified by directly contacting thawte or else operations from within your Control Panel will fail. If you have modified this Password directly through thawte, then you must update the same by performing the steps mentioned below:
- Login into your Control Panel, search for the Digital Certificate and click on the same. Click here to find instructions to accomplish this >>
- Click on the Change Password button to update your Certificate Maintenance Password.
- Upon entering the New Password, complete this process by clicking on the Confirm button.
IMPORTANT
The Change Password button is only displayed after you have enrolled for a Digital Certificate.

Follow the process mentioned below to modify the password for any of your MS SQL Database Users:
1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have purchased this hosting package.
2. In the search results view, click on the domain name. This will take you to the order details view.
3. Click on Manage Web Hosting Service in the lower toolbar.
4. In the Website Management interface pop-up that follows, go to Manage Website -> Database Manager -> List Databases.
5. The following page would contain a list of Databases associated with your website, with complete details for each Database such as the Database name, space utilization and the Users associated with it.
Here, click on the User whose password you wish to modify.
6. Here, enter the new password, and click Submit.

You can easily modify your Reseller Admin Control Panel Password by following this process -
1. Login to your Reseller Admin Control Panel from http://manage.gossimer.biz/reseller.
2. In your Control Panel go to Settings -> Change Password.
3. Mention the following details and save the changes by clicking the Confirm Password button.
a. Old Password – You need to mention here the password that you just used to login into Reseller Control Panel.
b. New Password – Enter any new Password that you may easily remember, of minimum 6 characters. This Password should preferably be a mix of alphabets, numbers and special characters, to ensure that unauthorized people can not guess your password.
c. Confirm Password – Enter the same Password you set as your New Password. This is needed to ensure that you remember the new password you mentioned in the above field.
This new password would be effective the next time you login.

1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have purchased this hosting package.

If you have installed a Power Tool in your Web Hosting Package, then you need to ensure that you do not perform any of the following actions:
- Modification/Deletion of the Database, that you selected during installation of the Power Tool
- Modification/Deletion of the Database User, that you selected during installation of the Power Tool

You should make it a habit to change your FTP User password at regular intervals. Follow this process to modify the password for an existing FTP user:
1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have purchased this hosting package. Click here to read how >>

3. Click on Manage Web Hosting Service in the lower toolbar.
4. In the Website Management interface pop-up that follows, go to Manage Website -> FTP User Manger -> List FTP Users. This would give a list of all FTP users associated with your web hosting package.
5. In the user list view that follows, click on the user whose password you wish to change.
6. Enter the new password in the Password and Confirm password slots, and click on Submit.
