28 Jul 10 Bulk Modify

For Customers -

You can modify the Name Servers and Contact Details of your domain names (except .ME, .EU, .UK and .ASIA domain names) in Bulk. Please follow the steps mentioned below to do the same:

1. Login to your Customer Control Panel from http://manage.gossimer.biz/customer.

2. Go to Domains -> Domain Registration -> Bulk Actions -> Bulk Modify, there you would have to enter the domain names whose information you wish to Modify or you can Search the same by Searching from the Search form provided below on the same page.

3. Here you can Modify the Contact Details by using any of the Contacts Available. If you wish to Add a new Contact, you can do so from the Control Panel by going to Domains -> Domain Registration -> Contact Management -> Add.

4. Below, you would find the Radio Button, select the FIRST BUTTON, if you do not wish to Modify the Name Servers and SECOND BUTTON, if you wish to Modify the Name Servers as well.

5. Enter the Name Servers, that you wish to keep for all the selected domain names and hit Submit.

 

IMPORTANT

 

At any point of time, you can only add two Bulk orders. This implies that you would not be able to add another Bulk Registration / Renewal / Transfer / Modification request, if two Bulk Actions are already running. You will be able to add another Bulk request once the earlier request has been processed completely. For Resellers -

From the Reseller Control Panel, you can modify the Name Servers for domain names (except .ME, .EU, .UK and .ASIA domain names) Registered by your Customers. Follow the steps mentioned below to use this facility:

1. Login to your Reseller Control Panel from – http://manage.gossimer.biz/reseller.

2. Go to Products -> Domain Registration -> Bulk Actions -> Bulk Modify, there you would have to enter the domain names whose Name Servers you wish to Modify or you can Search the same by Searching from the Search form provided below on the same page.

3. Enter the Name Servers, that you wish to keep for all the selected domain names and hit Submit.

 

IMPORTANT

 

At any point of time, you can only add two Bulk orders for any Customer. This implies that you would not be able to add another Bulk Registration / Renewal / Transfer / Modification request for a Customer if two Bulk Actions are already running for this Customer. You will be able to add another Bulk request once the earlier request has been processed completely. 22 Jul 10 Transferring your .EU Domain Name

Before proceeding with the Transfer you are advised to first go check if your Domain Name can be Transferred. Click here to check if your domain name can be transferred >>
 

IMPORTANT

In case of a .EU Domain Name Transfer, the Expiry date is updated to 1 year from the date of Transfer and not to 1 year from the date the domain name was set to expire prior to Transfer.

For example, if a Domain Name has the Expiry date as 24 Oct, 2007 and it gets Transferred to another Registrar on 2 Sep, 2007. The new Expiry date will be 2 Sep, 2008 and not 24 Oct, 2008.
 


If you wish to Transfer a .EU Domain Name to Gossimer, then you need to follow the steps mentioned below:

Transfer Process for Customers

1. Login to your Control Panel from http://manage.gossimer.biz/customer.

2. In the Control Panel go to Domains -> Domain Registration -> Transfer. There, enter the Domain Name you wish to Transfer.

3. Select the Registrant Contact for this Domain Name. You may select from the available list of contacts or Add a New Contact.

It is compulsory for you to agree to the associated Product Agreement(s) by selecting the Check Box.

4. In order to avoid any downtime for the website/emails associated with your .EU domain name during the Transfer, it is necessary to mention the Name Servers already in use by your .EU domain name. You may also provide any new Name Servers that you would like to associate your .EU domain name with. Here, it is obvious that all the necessary DNS records are already created on the new Name Servers for the website/emails to be functional.

5. You need to mention any existing Child Name Servers for your .EU domain name alongwith their respective IP Addresses. This is necessary to avoid any downtime for the website/emails associated with any domain name using these Child Name Servers as their Name Servers. If you wish to Register any new Child Name Servers, you may also mention the same alongwith the respective IP Addresses. These new Child Name Servers will be Registered once the domain name is Transferred successfully.

6. Finally, proceed with the Payment of the Invoice. Click here to read more details on Payment >>.

Now that you have placed the Transfer Order, the Registrant Contact for the Domain Name will receive an e-mail from the Registry for the Transfer Authorization process, which needs to be approved within 7 days. The Registry provides an additional grace period of 7 days for approval, in case the Transfer was not approved within the initial 7 day period. The authorization can also be provided through a fax to the Registry from the Registrant Contact. Template of the confirmation fax is provided below:

The request is processed once the Registry receives approval from the Registrant.

Transfer Process for Resellers

1. Login to your Control Panel from http://manage.gossimer.biz/reseller.

2. In the Control Panel go to Products -> Domain Registration -> Transfer. There you would have to enter the Domain Name you wish to Transfer.

IMPORTANT

Transfer request for .EU Domain Names cannot be placed from the Storefront/within the Control Panel. Hence, it is advised that you re-direct all purchase related links from within your, your company user’s and your Customer’s Control Panel to your SuperSite URL or your Custom URL (if you have integrated with our platform using our API).

3. Enter the Username (Email Address) of the Customer, on whose behalf you wish to buy this Service. If the Customer is new, you can Add the Customer, by filling the form given there.

4. Select the Registrant Contact for this Domain Name. You may select from the available list of contacts or Add a New Contact.

It is compulsory for you to agree to the associated Product Agreement(s) by selecting the Check Box.

5. In order to avoid any downtime for the website/emails associated with your .EU domain name during the Transfer, it is necessary to mention the Name Servers already in use by your .EU domain name. You may also provide any new Name Servers that you would like to associate your .EU domain name with. Here, it is obvious that all the necessary DNS records are already created on the new Name Servers for the website/emails to be functional.

6. You need to mention any existing Child Name Servers for your .EU domain name alongwith their respective IP Addresses. This is necessary to avoid any downtime for the website/emails associated with any domain name using these Child Name Servers as their Name Servers. You can view all the Domains for a particular Customer from your Reseller Admin Control Panel. Please follow the steps mentioned below - 

1. Login to your Reseller Control Panel from .

2. Go to Customers -> List or search for a particular Customer through Customers -> Search.

3. Click on the Name of the Customer whose Domains you wish to view.

4. In the Customer Details page that appears, click on List Domains. This would present a list of all Domains, along with all the Services this Customer has bought for each Domain.

15 Jul 10 Transferring your Domain Name (except .EU, .UK and .WS)

 

Before proceeding with the Transfer, you are advised to first check the following:

Once you have confirmed the above, you may place a Transfer request for your Domain Name with Gossimer, by following the below mentioned steps:

Transfer Process for Customers:

     

  1. Login to your Control Panel from http://manage.gossimer.biz/customer.
     
  2. In the Control Panel, go to Domains -> Domain Registration -> Transfer. There, enter the Domain Name you wish to Transfer and the Domain (Transfer) Secret.
      

    IMPORTANT
     
     

    • In case of a .CC/.TV Domain Name, you may provide a Transfer Secret/Authorization Code if the Domain Name has a Transfer Secret/Authorization Code set at the Current Registrar. Otherwise, you can leave the Transfer Secret field blank.
       
    • The .WS Registry does not support Transfer of Domain Names between Registrars. Hence, a .WS Domain Name cannot be Transferred under any circumstance.
       

     

  3. Select the various Contacts (Registrant, Admin, Technical & Billing Contact) for this Domain Name. You may select from the available list of Contacts or Add a New Contact.

    You may choose to enable Privacy Protection for your Domain Name. Click here to read what is Privacy Protection >>

    It is compulsory for you to agree to the associated Product Agreement(s) by selecting the check box.
     

  4. Finally, proceed with the Payment of the Invoice. Click here to read more details on Payment >>

    Now that you have placed the Transfer Order, the Administrative Contact for the Domain Name will receive an e-mail from Gossimer for the Transfer Authorization process, which needs to be approved within 5 days (or else it is assumed that the Admin Contact does not wish for the Transfer to complete and the Order is Deleted in our system). Once the mail has been approved by the Administrative Contact, the Current Registrar will be notified regarding the same. The Current Registrar will send an e-mail to the Registrant and/or the Administrative Contact of the concerned Domain Name to confirm that they wish to Transfer their Domain Name. If the Transfer is not denied by either the Registrant or the Administrative Contact or the Current Registrar, the Domain Name will be Transferred to you under Gossimer in 5 days.

  5.  

     

IMPORTANT 

Once a Domain Name having an associated Domain (Transfer) Secret is Transferred to Gossimer from another Registrar, our System would set a new Domain (Transfer) Secret for such a Domain Name. This process is implemented from a security perspective.

13 Jul 10 Bulk Renewal

Apart from individually renewing the Domain Names, you can have a glimpse of all expiring Domain Names and Renew the same in bulk from the Renewal Management Interface of your Control Panel. Click here to read how to Renew Domain Names individually >>

The Renewal Management interface can be used as follows -

For Customers:

1. Login to your Customer Control Panel from http://manage.gossimer.biz/customer.

2. Go to Domains -> Domain Registration -> Renewal Management

3. Select Domain Registration or any other Product whose Orders you wish to renew from the drop down and enter the number of days, to obtain a list of all expiring domain names within this period, and click on Go.

For example, if you want to obtain the list of Domain Registration Orders expiring in the next 30 days, select Domain Registration from the drop-down and then enter 30 to obtain this list.

4. Select one or more Orders that you wish to Renew. To select all Orders, select the check box on the top of the form.

5. Click on the Renew Selected Orders button, to select the Number of years for which you wish to Renew each Order.
 

IMPORTANT   

  • In case your domain name has been Locked/Suspended by Gossimer, you will not be able to immediately renew your domain name. You need to contact our Support Team at support@gossimer.com to get this issue resolved.
     
  • .EU specific conditions The .EU Registry allows Renewal of a domain name for only one year. However, Gossimer allows you to place a Renewal action for multiple years. If you choose to renew your .EU domain name for more than one year, then Gossimer will Renew the domain name at its end for the number of years selected. You can be rest assured that once this one year term in completed, Gossimer will Renew your domain name for a further year, until the renewal term you had requested ends.
     
  • .UK specific conditions 
        

    1. At the earliest, a .UK domain name can be Renewed only six months before its expiry date. 
    2. As per the .UK Registry regulations, .UK domain names can only be renewed for 2 years.
    3.  

       

6. Upon selecting the number of years you want to renew each order for, you would be displayed your Current Debit Account Balance with Gossimer and the Total Amount for renewing the selected orders, at the bottom of the page.

a. If you have selected less than 25 orders to be renewed, then upon clicking on the Continue button, you would be prompted to pay for the Renewal of these orders. Click here to read how to pay for an Invoice >>

b. If you have selected more than 25 orders to be renewed, then

  • if you have sufficient funds in your Current Debit Account Balance, then upon clicking on the Continue button, your Bulk Renewal request will be added to the queue and it will be automatically processed shortly.
     
  • if you do not have sufficient funds in your Current Debit Account Balance, then you would need to first click on the Add Funds link.This will  pop-up a new window, where you need to select one of the payment methods and add sufficient funds to cover the cost of renewing these domain names (i.e., Total Amount – Current Debit Account Balance).Upon completion of the Add Funds process, close this window and refresh the Set Years for Renewal page. Now upon clicking on the Continue button, your Bulk Renewal request will be added to the queue and it will be automatically processed shortly.

 

IMPORTANT    

At any point of time, you can add upto two Bulk orders. This implies that you would not be able to add another Bulk Registration / Renewal / Transfer / Modification request, if two Bulk Actions are already running. You will be able to add another Bulk request once the earlier request has been processed completely. For Resellers:

1. Log in to your Reseller Admin Control Panel from http://manage.gossimer.biz/reseller

2. Go to Products -> Renewal Management

3. Before clicking on the Go button, select/mention the following details

Product – Select the Product whose Orders you wish to renew from the drop down

Number of Days – Enter the number of days to obtain a list of all Expiring orders of (all) your Customers within this period

Customer (optional) – If you wish to renew only orders belonging to a particular Customer, you may do so by mentioning the Customer Username (email address) or Customer ID (number) in the appropriate field. If you leave this field blank, the search will result in orders belonging to all your Customers.

For example,

Case 1 – if you want to renew Orders belonging to All Products, expiring in the next 30 days, then you would need to select the Product as All Products, mention 30 days and not fill the Customer field.

Case 2 – if you want to renew only Customer Username a@somedomain.com all orders belonging to All Products, expiring in the next 30 days, then you would need to select the Product as All Products, mention 30 days and fill the Customer field with a@somedomain.com.

4. Select one or more Orders that you wish to Renew. To select all Orders, select the check box on the top of the form.

5. Click on Renew Selected Orders, to select the Number of years for which you wish to Renew each Order.
 

IMPORTANT   

  • You can select for Renewal all the domain names listed in the search results. However, the Renewal action will be processed for
    only those domain names which either do not have any lock or have been locked by you or your Customers. Renewal action for domain names locked by Gossimer will not go through.
     
  • .EU specific conditionsThe .EU Registry allows Renewal of a domain name for only one year. However, Gossimer allows you to place a Renewal action for multiple years. If you choose to renew your .EU domain name for more than one year, then Gossimer will Renew the domain name at its end for the number of years selected. You can be rest assured that once this one year term in completed, Gossimer will Renew your domain name for a further year, until the renewal term you had requested ends.
     
  • .UK specific conditions
    1. At the earliest, a .UK domain name can be Renewed only six months before its expiry date.

6. Decide how you wish to Pay for the Renewal of the Orders by selecting one of the Payment Options mentioned below and then click on the Continue button to execute the Renewal

  • Option 1 – Renew the Orders and the Invoices will be kept Pending for the Customer. This way, he can pay for the Invoices later.
     
  • Option 2 – Renew the domain names using the Current Debit Account Balance of the Customer. This option would immediately debit your Customer’s Debit Account for the Cost of the Renewals. If there are insufficient funds in the Customer’s Debit Account balance, then the system would renew as many Orders as possible.
     
  • Option 3 – Renew the Orders without raising any Invoices for the Customer.
IMPORTANT   

At any point of time, you can add upto two Bulk orders for any Customer. This implies that you would not be able to add another Bulk Registration / Renewal / Transfer / Modification request for a Customer if two Bulk Actions are already running for this Customer. You will be able to add another Bulk request once the earlier request has been processed completely.
