What is a Theme?
A Theme is a set of design elements and color schemes that you apply to pages to give them a consistent and attractive appearance. Using a Theme is a quick and easy way to add interest to pages and give them a professional look.
A Theme allows you to alter the appearance of your SuperSite/PartnerSite by modifying its:
By applying a Theme you can immediately apply a predetermined set of design elements to your SuperSite/PartnerSite content. When you choose one theme to be the default theme for your website, the theme is applied to all existing pages and to new pages that you add later.
How to Add/Modify a Theme or How do I edit the CSS, Images, Javascript of my SuperSite/PartnerSite?
Adding a Theme
You can create your own Themes using the default Theme as mentioned below -
The Default SuperSite/PartnerSite Theme cannot be edited. If you wish to change the look and feel of your SuperSite/PartnerSite, you need to create your own Theme and modify the same.
Modifying your Theme (editing your SuperSite/PartnerSite CSS, Images, Javascript)
You can modify the CSS files (Cascading Style Sheets) for different sections of SuperSite and PartnerSite, by following the process outlined below:
IMPORTANTIf you are not satisfied with the modifications and wish to revert to the earlier setting, simply click on Reset to Default from the Edit page, to restore the default settings for that file.
Virtually every image in SuperSite and PartnerSite is customizable – should you not find any to your liking, you can replace it with another at any time.
IMPORTANT
- In order to modify an image file in SuperSite or PartnerSite, you need to note its name. To get the name of the image, simply right-click on the image in your browser, and select Properties. Here, you would find the address for the image. For example, http://<prefix>.SuperSite/PartnerSite.myorderbox.com/getImage.php?src=image-name.gif, orhttp://<prefix>.partnersite.myorderbox.com/getImage.php?src=image-name.gif
where image-name.gif is the name that you require.
- Also, there are some image files which are a part of the CSS itself; you would not be able to retrieve the filenames in the above manner. To retrieve the names of such image files, you need to check the style sheets for the section containing the image in question, and retrieve the image file name from there. Click here to find instructions on how to edit your SuperSite/PartnerSite/PartnerSite CSS files >>
- : You can follow the process mentioned below to replace the default header logo with the logo of your company. To do so, you need to replace the image named yourbrand.gif.
Follow the process outlined below to modify any Image files in your SuperSite/PartnerSite:
In addition to the default images, you can add/edit your own images as mentioned below:
- Login to your SuperSite or PartnerSite Admin Area. Click here to learn how >>
- In the Admin Area, click on the Add/Modify Content and Themes link. Then, click on Browse adjacent to the Themes folder.
- Click on Browse besides the Theme which you need to modify.
- Click on Browse link next to the Images folder.
- Click on Browse next to the MyUploadedImages folder.
Adding your own Images
- Click on the Add your own Images button on the top right-hand corner of this page.
- Click on Browse, and choose the image that you want to upload.
- Once the image is selected, click on Upload button.
Editing Images added by you
- Click on the Edit link next to the image you wish to modify.
- Click on Browse, and choose the image that you want to upload.
- Once the image is selected, click on Upload Image button.
After uploading an image using the above tool, you would need to link it from some HTML page on your SuperSite/PartnerSite.
IMPORTANT
- If you have translated your SuperSite/PartnerSite content to multiple languages, then you may want to have images with text embedded on them in that particular language itself. To accomplish this you would need to associate different languages to separate Themes and within each Theme have Images related to only that language.
- If you are not satisfied with the modifications and wish to revert to the earlier setting, simply click on Reset to Default from the Edit page, to restore the default settings for that file.
The manner in which the menu is displayed, can be modified just as easily:
IMPORTANT
- Only the menu display can be modified through the above process. Click here to read how to modify Menu text as well as their links >>
- If you are not satisfied with the modifications and wish to revert to the earlier setting, simply click on Reset to Default from the Edit page, to restore the default settings for that file.

In case you run a retail-only business, you can configure your SuperSite to cater only to end Customers by removing all Reseller-related content from your SuperSite. In order to do so, all you need to do is hide the Resellers section from the JavaScript menu just below the header in your SuperSite.
Hiding the Resellers menu is very simple, all you need to do is to comment the main line of code that defines the Resellers menu. Click here to read how >>.
The code defining the Resellers menu commented in the fashion illustrated below, would conceal the menu on your SuperSite.
/* aI(“align=center;text=Resellers;url=reseller.php?action=partnersite;target=_blank;image=getImage.php?src=menu-end-cover.gif;_quot;); */ |

IMPORTANT
The Resellers menu is placed at the the end of the menu bar, and ends in curved edges. Commenting the code for the Resellers section would hide the menu, but also leave sharp edges at the right extremity of the main menu.
In order to preserve the look of the main menu, you would have to append the code that lends the curvature, to the menu immediately preceding the Resellers menu. (This would be the Business Solutions menu by default, or any other menu if you have switched the order in which the menu items are displayed.) The patch of code you need to append to the menu is:
image=getImage.php?src=menu-end-cover.gif;<_font>
To lend curved edges to the Business solutions menu, simply modify the code that defines the menu, like so
aI(“align=center;showmenu=Business Solutions;text=Business Solutions;image=getImage.php?src=menu-end-cover.gif;_quot;); |
This will ensure that the menu is displayed appropriately.

Gossimer allows you to customize the JavaScript menus in your SuperSite or PartnerSite, such that you may modify/remove particular sub-menus, or even remove a particular menu altogether.
In order to make the changes required, follow the process outlined below.
IMPORTANTThe menu_data.js file contains the various Menu text as well as their links. On the other hand, the menu_style.js file contains all the style elements of your JavaScript Menu. So if you need to simply make modifications to how the menu is displayed, then you need to only edit menu_style.js file. Click here to read how >>
Example: The following code, extracted from Supersite, defines the main menu.
with(milonic=new menuname(“Main Menu”)){ position=”relative”; alwaysvisible=1; orientation=”horizontal”; style=menuStyle; menuwidth=760; aI(“image=getImage.php?src=menu-start-cover.gif;imagepadding=0;imageposition=left;_quot;); aI(“align=center;showmenu=Domain Names;text= Domains ;”); aI(“align=center;showmenu=Linux Hosting;text=Linux Hosting;”); aI(“align=center;showmenu=Windows Hosting;text=Windows Hosting;”); aI(“align=center;showmenu=Business Email;text= Email ;”); aI(“align=center;showmenu=Site Builder;text=Website Builder;”); aI(“align=center;showmenu=Business Solutions;text=Business Solutions;”); aI(“align=center;showmenu=Resellers;text=Resellers;image=getImage.php?src=menu-end-cover.gif;_quot;); |
You can modify the main menu here. You may even remove a particular menu by commenting the line in this code. For instance, the code defining the Business solutions menu commented in the fashion illustrated below, would conceal the menu on your Supersite.
/* aI(“align=center;showmenu=Business Solutions;text=Business Solutions;”); */ |
IMPORTANT
If you are not satisfied with the modifications and wish to revert to the earlier setting, simply click on Reset to Default from the Edit page, to restore the default settings for that file.
Once you modify a JavaScript file using the above tool, the status of such a file will change from Default to Modified. Once you have modified a file, we would not be able to automatically update the content of the same when new content is added by us; you would have to synchronize the content yourself. Click here to synchronize the JavaScript Menu modified by you with any new content added by Gossimer >>

However, images can be linked remotely also. In such cases, the images exist on a totally different host than the one on which the webpage (in which the images are called) exists. The images are linked using absolute URLs, i.e., http://some otherdomainname.com/pictures/pic.2.jpg. This is known as hotlinking. Since the image is requested from a remote server/website, bandwidth allocated for the remote server/website is utilized. If one indulges in such a practice without the approval of the remote server/website owner, this sort of linking can also be termed as bandwidth theft.
To assist you in preventing such abuse, Gossimer, LLC has provided a feature known as Bandwidth Theft Protection with its Linux Hosting Packages. Using this feature, you can prevent images linked to your website to be referenced remotely.
Using the Bandwidth Theft Protection feature
Follow the process mentioned below to enable Bandwidth Theft Protection for your website:

The Microsoft IIS 6.0 web server considers relative paths as a potential security hazard and therefore disables the same by default. To ensure that the server where your website is hosted can not be exploited in this fashion, Gossimer keeps relative paths disabled.
Examples
Relative Path: <img src=”../images/image.gif”>
Absolute Path: <img src=”www.yourdomain.com/images/image.gif”>
If you have designed a website in ASP which uses relative linking, then your website visitors may encounter an error message such as:
Active Server Pages, ASP 0131
Disallowed Parent Path
The Include file ‘../<filename.ext>’ cannot contain ‘..’ to indicate the parent directory.
/<path>/<filename.asp>, line <number>
OR
Server.MapPath()error ‘ASP 0175 : 80004005′ Disallowed Path Characters
You would receive such errors because you are referring to a file in a directory, which is a level above your Current Working Directory using Relative Paths or better know as Parent Paths.
To resolve this error, you have 2 options:
Option 1: Use an Absolute Path with the domain name
For every file you want to link within your ASP file, you need to mention the complete path including the domain name. For example, http://www.yourdomain.com/images/1.gif.
Option 2: Use an Absolute Virtual Path
You would need to modify your ASP scripts to use absolute virtual paths from the root of your website, instead of relative paths. For example, if you use an include file named “mycode.inc” at the root of your site, the virtual path would be “/mycode.inc.” If you use the same include file in a virtual directory named “/includes” on your server, the virtual path would be “/includes/mycode.inc” where “/” indicates the ROOT of your Website or the Web Directory.
The below example illustrates how to implement Virtual Paths in your scripts instead of Relative Paths -
<!–#include virtual=”/<virtual path>/<filename_you_wish_to_include>”–>
