27 Jul 10 Suspending / Unsuspending / Deleting your Digital Certificate

Suspending / Unsuspending your Digital Certificate (for Resellers Only)

If you Suspend a non-issued Digital Certificate, then the process of issuing that particular Digital Certificate halts untill the certificate isn’t UnSuspended.

If you Suspend an issued Digital Certificate and your Customer has already installed that certificate on his/her Web Server, then Suspending the Certificate would not hamper the working of this Digital Certificate. However, your Customer will not be able to manage his Certificate from his Control Panel until this Suspension is removed.

Follow the instructions mentioned below to Suspend / Unsuspend your Digital Certificate:

1. Login into your Control Panel, search for the Digital Certificate and click on the same. Click here to find instructions to accomplish this >>

2. Click on the Suspend/Unsuspend button

  • If you wish to Suspend the Service, you would have to select the check box for Suspension and enter the Reason for Suspension and click on the  Update button. This reason will be displayed to your Customer within the Suspend/Unsuspend interface.

  • If you wish to Unsuspend the Service, simply unselect this Check Box and click on the Update button.

IMPORTANT

  • Deletion of a Digital Certificate can be only accomplished once a certificate has been issued. Prior to issuance, you may simply cancel your Order. Click here to know how to Cancel a Digital Certificate Order >>

  • Cancelling an order leads to a refund being processed for your order, however, Deletion does not.

  • The Digital Certificate needs to deleted by you, in case your reissue request is rejected and the Digital Certificate is Revoked by thawte.

You can Delete a Digital Certificate by following the steps mentioned below:

1. Login into your Control Panel, search for the Digital Certificate and click on the same. Click here to find instructions to accomplish this >>

2. Click on the Delete Service button.

B. Certificate Details – Here you would find important information related to your certificate order and the Digital Certificate after it is issued.

  • Re-signable – Depending upon the Web Server Software type you selected at the time of Enrolling for a Digital Certificate, thawte determines if your Digital Certificate is re-signable or non-re-signable on their system.

If the status of this field is Yes, then it means that you need not generate a new CSR and can simply install the new certificate in your web server when you renew the same, over the existing one.

If the status of this field is No, then it means that you need to generate a new CSR at the time of renewing the certificate and submit the same to thawte through your Control Panel.

Click here to find more information about what Re-signable implies for your Digital Certificate >>

  • Renewable – You can renew your Digital Certificate within 90 days prior to its Expiry. However, it will only be issued 32 days before your current Certificate expires. The status of this field will become Yes only 90 days prior to its Expiry and otherwise display No.

Click here to find more information about how to Renew your Digital Certificate >>

    • Certificate Order Number – This is your Digital Certificate’s Order Number as issued by thawte. You would need your Certificate Order Number primarily to display the thawte Trusted Site Seal on your website. Click here to learn how to display the thawte seal on your website >>

    • Certificate Maintenance Password – This is the password you have set to manage your Digital Certificate from your Gossimer Control Panel.

    • Serial No. – This is a hexadecimal serial number issued by thawte to uniquely identify your Digital Certificate.

    • Certificate – When a Digital Certificate is issued to you, it would be available in this text box. Your Digital Certificate would be encapsulated within these tags—–BEGIN CERTIFICATE—–
      [Encoded Data]
      —–END CERTIFICATE—–

14 Jul 10 Debugging API Calls and Retrieving the XML Sent / Recieved by our Server

The Debug API Parameters interface allows you to enable/disable API Call Debugging, emulate individual API calls and retrieve the XML Sent and Received by our server to compare with those returned by the specific emulator for debugging. Follow the process outlined below to commence this process:

    1. Login into your Reseller Control Panel from http://manage.gossimer.biz/reseller

    2. Click on Settings -> API -> Debug Your API Calls

    3. Select the API method (any one or all) that you want to debug and click on the Start Debugging button.

    4. Mention the last n calls (between 1 to 1000) that you want us to record by mentioning a value in the text box provided.

If you have already integrated with one of our API Kits and are facing an error that you wish to debug, then proceed to the next step.

If however, you are testing our API and wish to emulate API calls, then you may do so by selecting any of the PHP API Kits that we have deployed, by clicking on it (at the bottom of the interface). Clicking on any of the API Kits link will open the respective emulator in a new browser window.

    6. Once you have tried a few calls, you may compare the XML Sent/Received with the ones logged in the system, by clicking on the Refresh button in the previous browser window.

    7. Once you have completed your debugging exercise, turn off Debugging by clicking on the Stop Debugging button.

    IMPORTANT

    • Turning on debugging for you API calls will slow them down significantly. Please turn debugging off as soon as possible to
      maintain optimal performance.
    • Since enabling debugging also increases the load on our server, it will automatically be turned off after 1 hour.
    • Turning Debugging Off deletes the API log file, so please be sure to save the content of the textbox if you wish to refer to it later.
