03 Sep 10 Installing osCommerce

Follow the below mentioned process to install the osCommerce Power Tool on your website:

1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have purchased a Linux hosting package. Click here to know how >>

2. In the search results view, click on the domain name. This will take you to the Order details view.

3. Click on the Manage Web Hosting Service button in the lower toolbar.

4. Go to Manage Website -> Power Tools. This will present you with a list of Power Tools offered.
 

IMPORTANT

If you have already installed the osCommerce Power Tool, then instead of the Install link, the Uninstall link would be visible. You may view the details of the existing installation by clicking on the View link under the Details column.

 

5. In order to install osCommerce, click on Install link under the Status column.

6. In order to install the osCommerce Power Tool you would need to simply input the following details -

i. Database Name – select the database from the drop-down list.
 

IMPORTANT

osCommerce is a database-driven Power Tool. Hence, your hosting package needs to include at least one database. If a database is not included in your current hosting package, the following steps need to performed -

  1. You need to upgrade your package by adding a database. Click here to read how to upgrade your package >>

  2. You need to configure your database. Click here to read how to configure your database >>

ii. Database Username – select (one of) the Database User(s) whom you have associated with this database, from the drop-down list.
 

iii. Database User’s Password – provide the password of the Database User, you selected above.
 

IMPORTANT

The Database User’s Password you input above has to match the Password you entered while adding this User in the Database Manager interface. In the event that you can not recall this Database User’s Password, you need to reset the same before continuing. Click here to find instructions on how to reset the Password of a Database User >>
 

iv. Directory Name – you need to input a new sub-directory name where you want the osCommerce Power Tool to be installed on your website. This sub-directory will be directly under your web directory. You need to provide the directory name without any trailing forward-slash (/).
 

IMPORTANT

Confirm that you have sufficient Web Space and Database Space before continuing the osCommerce installation, by referring the information provided in the interface.

7. Click on the Install button to complete the osCommerce installation.

 

Besides the above information, you need to provide a few details about the osCommerce Administrator:

1. Admin Name – This is the name of the person who will be administering the osCommerce installation.

2. Password – This is the Administrator’s Password.

3. Confirm Password – Re-enter the Administrator’s Password to confirm the same.

4. Admin Email – Mention the Administrator’s Email Address where important notifications will be sent by the osCommerce Power tool.

Once osCommerce is installed, you can click on the View link under the Details column, to view the details related to osCommerce.

Once you have installed Nucleus on your website, you may glimpse information about the installation from the Power Tools interface. Follow the below mentioned process to do so:

1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have purchased a Linux hosting package. Click here to know how >>

2. In the search results view, click on the domain name. This will take you to the Order details view.

If for some reason, you wish to uninstall your WordPress Power Tool, you may do so by following the below mentioned process:

27 Aug 10 Suspending / Unsuspending / Deleting your Digital Certificate

Suspending / Unsuspending your Digital Certificate (for Resellers Only)

If you Suspend a non-issued Digital Certificate, then the process of issuing that particular Digital Certificate halts untill the certificate isn’t UnSuspended.

If you Suspend an issued Digital Certificate and your Customer has already installed that certificate on his/her Web Server, then Suspending the Certificate would not hamper the working of this Digital Certificate. However, your Customer will not be able to manage his Certificate from his Control Panel until this Suspension is removed.

Follow the instructions mentioned below to Suspend / Unsuspend your Digital Certificate:

1. Login into your Control Panel, search for the Digital Certificate and click on the same. Click here to find instructions to accomplish this >>

2. Click on the Suspend/Unsuspend button

  • If you wish to Suspend the Service, you would have to select the check box for Suspension and enter the Reason for Suspension and click on the  Update button. This reason will be displayed to your Customer within the Suspend/Unsuspend interface.
     

  • If you wish to Unsuspend the Service, simply unselect this Check Box and click on the Update button.
     

IMPORTANT

  • Deletion of a Digital Certificate can be only accomplished once a certificate has been issued. Prior to issuance, you may simply cancel your Order. Click here to know how to Cancel a Digital Certificate Order >>
     

  • Cancelling an order leads to a refund being processed for your order, however, Deletion does not.
     

  • The Digital Certificate needs to deleted by you, in case your reissue request is rejected and the Digital Certificate is Revoked by thawte.

You can Delete a Digital Certificate by following the steps mentioned below:

1. Login into your Control Panel, search for the Digital Certificate and click on the same. Click here to find instructions to accomplish this >>

2. Click on the Delete Service button.

3. Click on the Confirm Deletion button if you are sure that you wish to Delete your Digital Certificate. In the popup, enter YES (in capital letters) and click on the OK button to complete the process.

5. In order to install phpBB, click on Install link under the Status column.

6. In order to install the phpBB Power Tool you would need to simply input the following details -

iv. Directory Name – you need to input a new sub-directory name where you want the phpBB Power Tool to be installed on your website. This sub-directory will be directly under your web directory. You need to provide the directory name without any trailing forward-slash (/).

Confirm that you have sufficient Web Space and Database Space before continuing the phpBB installation, by referring the information provided in the interface.

You can perform any modifications, such as Renewing, Upgrading/Downgrading or Deleting your Live Chat Service package from your Control Panel itself. Follow the steps outlined below to make the modifications you desire –

Login to your Control Panel, search for the Domain Name for which you have purchased the Live Chat Service package and proceed to the Order Details view page. Click here to know how >>

 

Renew your Live Chat Service

You can Renew your Live Chat Service package at anytime, for a duration ranging from 6 months to 5 years.

     

  1. In the Order Details view, click Renew Service button.
     
  2. On the next page, select the duration for which you wish to Renew this package, and click Renew Service.
     
  3. Then proceed to make the payment and the Renewal would be effected immediately.

Upgrade/Downgrade your Service

At any point in time, you can Upgrade or *Downgrade to any of the other Live Chat Service packages offered by Gossimer, to suit your requirements.

     

  1. In the Order details view, click Upgrade/Downgrade button.
     
  2. Here, in the Package Details section, select the package to which you wish to Upgrade/Downgrade. Simultaneously, you may choose to extend the duration of your package by selecting a duration from the Renew Service drop-down.
     
  3. When you select the new specifications for your Order, you would see the cost of the modification. This is calculated as

    ([n x Monthly cost of the new package] + Pro-rated cost for the current month) – Credits remaining from the existing package

  4.  

where, n = duration of the new package in months

 

  • Then proceed to pay for the Invoice, if any payment is applicable. The modification would be effected immediately.
  • IMPORTANT 

    *On downgrading a package, the surplus funds are not credited to your account – however, they can be immediately utilized to extend the duration of your package.

     

     

    Delete your Service

    If for some reason, you do not wish to continue with the Live Chat Service provided by Gossimer, then you may Delete your Live Chat Service package.

    1. In the Order Details view, click the Delete Service button.
       
    2. Confirm the Deletion of this package.
       
    3. On confirming, Deletion would be effective immediately.

    Gossimer allows you complete flexibility with the terms of your Web Hosting package. At any point in time, you can Upgrade or even *Downgrade the parameters of your package to better suit your requirements. To do so,

    1. In the Order details view, click Upgrade/Downgrade.
       
    2. Here, you can modify all the parameters of your Web Hosting package. Simultaneously, you may choose to extend the duration of your package by selecting a duration from the Renew Service drop-down.
       
    3. When you select the new specifications for your package, you would see the cost of the modification. This is calculated as

      ([n x Monthly cost of the new package] + Pro-rated cost for the current month) – Credits remaining from the existing package 

      where, n = duration of the new package in months

    4. Then proceed to pay for the Invoice, if any payment is applicable.

    IMPORTANT

    *On Downgrading a package, the surplus funds are not credited to your account – however, they can be utilized to immediately extend the duration of your package.

     

     

    Deleting your package

    If for some reason, you do not wish to continue with the Web Hosting services provided by Gossimer, then you may Delete your package. Note that, Deletion of this package within 30 days of purchase, entitles you to a full refund of your Cost Price. However, you would not get a refund if you Deleted the package after this period.

    1. In the Order Details view, click the Delete Service button.
       
    2. Here, you would see details of the refund applicable on Deletion, if any. The refund would be given to you in the form of a Credit Note. You would further have to Confirm the Deletion of this package.
       

      IMPORTANT

      If you re-order Web Hosting Service for the same domain name or any of its domain aliases, the 30 day refund guarantee will not be applicable to any such new Order.

       

       

    3. On confirming, Deletion would be effective immediately.

    IMPORTANT

    In order to complete the action in case of Linux Hosting, the Web Server needs to be restarted. Random restarts affect other services running on the Server. In order to avoid this, the Server has been scheduled to restart at intervals of 20 minutes. Hence, each one of the above mentioned actions might take upto 20 minutes for completion.

      If you re-order Email Hosting Service for the same domain name or any of its domain aliases, the 30 day refund guarantee will not be applicable to any such new Order.

    18 Aug 10 Installing Nucleus

    Follow the below mentioned process to install the Nucleus Power Tool on your website:

    1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have purchased a Linux hosting package. Click here to know how >>

    2. In the search results view, click on the domain name. This will take you to the Order details view.

    3. Click on the Manage Web Hosting Service button in the lower toolbar.

    4. Go to Manage Website -> Power Tools. This will present you with a list of Power Tools offered.
     

    IMPORTANT

    If you have already installed the Nucleus Power Tool, then instead of the Install link, the Uninstall link would be visible. You may view the details of the existing installation by clicking on the View link under the Details column.

     

    5. In order to install Nucleus, click on Install link under the Status column.

    6. In order to install the Nucleus Power Tool you would need to simply input the following details -

    i. Database Name – select the database from the drop-down list.
     

    IMPORTANT

    Nucleus is a database-driven Power Tool. Hence, your hosting package needs to include at least one database. If a database is not included in your current hosting package, the following steps need to performed -

    1. You need to upgrade your package by adding a database. Click here to read how to upgrade your package >>

    2. You need to configure your database. Click here to read how to configure your database >>

    ii. Database Username – select (one of) the Database User(s) whom you have associated with this database, from the drop-down list.
     

    iii. Database User’s Password – provide the password of the Database User, you selected above.
     

    IMPORTANT

    The Database User’s Password you input above has to match the Password you entered while adding this User in the Database Manager interface. In the event that you can not recall this Database User’s Password, you need to reset the same before continuing.     iv. Directory Name – you need to input a new sub-directory name where you want the Nucleus Power Tool to be installed on your website. This sub-directory will be directly under your web directory. You need to provide the directory name without any trailing forward-slash (/).
     

    IMPORTANT

    Confirm that you have sufficient Web Space and Database Space before continuing the Nucleus installation, by referring the information provided in the interface.

    7. Click on the Install button to complete the Nucleus installation.

     

    Besides the above information, you need to provide a few details about the Nucleus Administrator:

    1. Admin Name – This is the name of the person who will be administering the Nucleus installation.

    2. Password – This is the Administrator’s Password.

    3. Confirm Password – Re-enter the Administrator’s Password to confirm the same.

    4. Admin Email – Mention the Administrator’s Email Address where important notifications will be sent by the Nucleus Power tool.

    Once Nucleus is installed, you can click on the View link under the Details column, to view the details related to Nucleus.

    14 Aug 10 Viewing details of your existing phpBB installation

    Once you have installed phpBB on your website, you may glimpse information about the installation from the Power Tools interface. Follow the below mentioned process to do so:

    1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have purchased a Linux hosting package. Click here to know how >>

    2. In the search results view, click on the domain name. This will take you to the Order details view.

    3. Click on the Manage Web Hosting Service button in the lower toolbar.

    4. Go to Manage Website -> Power Tools.

    5. Here click on the View link under the Status column, besides the phpBB Power Tool.

    6. This would present you the following details about your current installation

    • phpBB Version
    • phpBB Space Utilization
    • Database Name
    • Database Username
    • Installation Directory Name
    • Admin Name (provided at the time of installation)
    • Admin Email Address (provided at the time of installation)
    • phpBB URL
    • Admin URL

    13 Aug 10 Uninstalling Joomla!

    If for some reason, you wish to uninstall your Joomla! Power Tool, you may do so by following the below mentioned process:

    1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name for which you have purchased this hosting package. Click here to know how to accomplish this >>
       

    2. In the search results view, click on the domain name. This will take you to the Order details view.
       

    3. Click on the Manage Web Hosting Service button in the lower toolbar.
       

    4. Go to Manage Website -> Power Tools.
       

    5. In order to uninstall Joomla!, click on the Uninstall link under the Status column, besides the Joomla! Power Tool.
       

    6. Confirm the process by clicking on the Uninstall button.

    12 Aug 10 Uninstalling osCommerce

    If for some reason, you wish to uninstall your osCommerce Power Tool, you may do so by following the below mentioned process:

    3. Click on the Manage Web Hosting Service button in the lower toolbar.
       

    4. Go to Manage Website -> Power Tools.
       

    5. In order to uninstall osCommerce, click on the Uninstall link under the Status column, besides the osCommerce Power Tool.
       

    6. Confirm the process by clicking on the Uninstall button.

    11 Aug 10 Renewing your Domain Name

     

    When you register a domain name, it is registered to you for a certain number of years i.e., until its registration term expires. If you plan to continue using it beyond its Expiry Date, then you need to Renew it.

    You can renew your domain name from your Control Panel by following the below mentioned process:

       

    1. Login to your Control Panel and search for the domain name. Click here to learn how to accomplish this >>

    3. Click on the Domain name in the search results to get to the Order details view.
       

    4. Click on the Renew Service button, which will take you to the Renewal page.
       

    5. On this page from the Dropdown Box select the numbers of years for which you wish to Renew this Domain Name.
       

    6. Then proceed to pay for this service and the Renewal would be affected immediately.

    IMPORTANT 

    • A Renewal action, once completed, cannot be reversed. The only option would be deleting the domain name, in case the same is no longer required. Click here to know how a domain name can be deleted >>
       
    • Customers: In case your domain name has been Locked/Suspended by Gossimer, you will not be able to immediately renew your domain name. You need to contact our Support Team at support@gossimer.com to get this issue resolved.
       
    • Resellers: You can Renew only those domain names which either do not have any lock or have been locked by you or your Customers. Domain names locked by Gossimer cannot be Renewed by you.Moreover, you can NOT renew domain names that are registered through your Sub-Resellers. From your Reseller Admin Control Panel, you can only renew domain names registered by your immediate Customers; for all other domain names, the Renew Service button in the Order details view would be disabled.
       
    • .EU specific conditions:The .EU Registry allows Renewal of a domain name for only one year. However, Gossimer allows you to place a Renewal action for multiple years. If you choose to renew your .EU domain name for more than one year, then Gossimer will Renew the domain name at its end for the number of years selected. You can be rest assured that once this one year term in completed, Gossimer will Renew your domain name for a further year, until the renewal term you had requested ends.
       
    • .UK specific conditions:
       
       

      1. At the earliest, a .UK domain name can be Renewed only six months before its expiry date.
         
      2. As per the .UK Registry regulations, .UK domain names can only be renewed for 2 years.
